My name is Fathima Darboe.
In the simplest terms I am a writer, photographer and videographer.
But I also like to think of myself as a storyteller. I believe that storytelling is one of the deepest forms of human connection, one that entire cultures are born out of and one that transcends generations and connects people across language and cultural barriers.
With that in mind…
My goal is to to share Muslim stories, faces, voices and values with the world as well as other stories that I am passionate about and that align with my Muslim values such that have to do with culture, religion, injustice, positive change, self-care, mental health, the environment, etc.
“Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler”
(Peace and blessings be upon him)
Traveller notes is what I call my short forms of writing such as poems, duas (short prayers) and reflections.
Check out my photography for people. events or random things that catch my attention.
